Lake Ray Hubbard is just east of Dallas in Collin, Rockwall and Dallas Counties. The Lake was built for municipal water supply and is also a lakeside power generating plant. A lot of the north end retains its original standing timber and the shoreline areas have some vegetation. The water is rather fertile and has a maximum depth of 40 feet. Lake Ray Hubbard is also known for the good open-water fishery for white bass, hybrids, and stripers, making the lake a perfect place for fishing and sailing.
